Brief History of POLAC

Nigeria Police Academy also known as Polac, Kano State. It was founded in 2013 when academic activities at the Academy started. The Nigeria Police Academy was founded in 1988 after recognizing the need to improve the quality of the Nigeria police force through the training of effective and community-based police forces that meet the ever-growing and complex demands of law enforcement and criminal justice administration. The goal is to produce professionally trained officers who will compete with their counterparts in other parts of the world.

Since Polac inception, the Academy has run two specialised short-service courses for Cadet Inspectors and Cadet ASPs, the latter for graduates of different specialties.
However, given the need to support and develop senior academic and professional personnel in the Polac, the Academy was recognized by the Agency after awarding the Minimum Academic Standards required by the National University Commission (NUC) for the 37th Federal University and as a degree awarding institution in 2012. In addition to academic and professional training, the Police Academy pursues training in cutting-edge research and conducts research on law enforcement, criminal justice, public safety and conflict resolution issues.

POLAC form 2023/2024 Requirements for admission | Nigeria Police Academy form

This is a complete list of all requirements for admission to the Nigerian Police Academy session. POLAC form 2023.

  1. All applicants must be between 17 and 22 years of age. This must be clearly proven on your birth certificate and stamped by a federal hospital.
  2. The height required for this reception is 1.67 meters (5 feet and 6 inches) for men and 1.62 meters (5 feet 4 inches) for women.
  3. The breast size requirement for men is an expanded chest size of no less than 86 cm (34 inches for those between 21 and 22 years old).
  4. If you are injured in any way or have a deformity that prevents you from presenting yourself properly, physically and mentally, you may not be employed.
  5. SSCE, NECO or GCE certification is important.
  6. Education certificates and courses required for university graduates are clearly marked on the application portal. Therefore, when filling out the form, it is important to check which positions match your educational qualifications.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

  1. Applicants MUST have their National Identification Number (NIN), a Functional Email address and valid phone number before they commence the application.
  2. Applicants must have duly scanned copy of their original O’Level result(s) to be uploaded on the portal..

  4. Applicant must print their completed online forms, guarantor forms and submit same at the admission physical/examination screening centers.
  5. Applicant must have passion for a career in the Nigeria Police Force and must satisfy the following General Requirements..
    • Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess National Identity Number (NIN) .
    • Applicants must possess a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB with credit passes in English and Mathematics. .
    • Applicants must be aged between 17-22 years. .
    • Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67mtrs tall for male and 1.64mtrs tall for female..
    • Applicants must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for men only).
    • Female Applicant must not be pregnant at the time of admission..
    • Applicant must be free from any pecuniary embarrassment.

Special Requirements for Nigeria Police academy form 2023/2024

Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 86cm (34 Inches for those between 21 and 22 years of age). All candidates must be free from any physical deformity or disability.

Candidates must have obtained a minimum of SIX (6) credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings. All Candidates must also have a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study in the Academy.

Candidates must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written examination and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness

SSCE Statement of results or certificates relating to examinations taken before 2017 will not be accepted.

NIGERIAN POLICE ACADEMIC REGISTRATION PROCEDURE | HOW TO APPLY FOR POLAC 2023/2024

  • Interested candidates are advised to visit the Nigerian Police Academy website: http://polac.edu.ng/purchasepin/ to obtain or generate a Remita Extraction Reference Code (RRR).
  • The generated RRR code can be used to pay N3,500.00 [SUBJECTED TO CHANGE] through any branch of any commercial bank in Nigeria.
  • Applicants must also apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board [JAMB] and complete the UTME. Applicants should not choose the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil as the university of choice in the JAMB form. However, only applicants who have achieved a minimum UTME score of 180, which is the maximum score of the JAMB Academy, and who have purchased the Academy’s online application form are eligible to sit for the Nigerian Police Academy competitive exams.
  • After payment, applicants must visit http://polac.edu.ng/user/register/application/ to create an online application account.

POLAC requirements for the Screening Exercise for Polac form 2023/2024

Polac form

The Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil competitive exam, is based on pencil and paper (PPB). The exam consists of a general paper (Part A) which is mandatory for all candidates. It covers areas such as general knowledge and current affairs, English and mathematics. Other fields must be selected according to the faculty chosen by the candidate. To be held on Saturday, 10th August 2021. Only applicants who achieve Academy Class 180 at UTME and above are eligible to take Nigerian Police Academy competitive exams at 19 designated centres. A list of centers can be found on the Academy website. Eligible applicants must bring the admission form, exam card, current JAMB score sheet, and two postcard-sized photographs (3.5″ Γ— 5″) to the exam location, which must be displayed from the chest up only. Applicants must write their name, country of origin, examination center and signature on the back of each of the two postcard-sized photos.

Only candidates who pass the selection exams will be invited to the Selection Committee of the Nigerian Police Academy for screening and interview. The list of successful candidates will be published on the Academy website and in national newspapers.
